Centaurus A - Orion 8" f/3.9 Astrograph, Canon 700D 30 @ 180" ISO 800

Centaurus A is a peculiar galaxy located in the southern constellation Centaurus. It is the fifth brightest galaxy in the night sky, the nearest giant galaxy to the Milky Way, the galaxy’s exact distance from Earth is also uncertain, but estimates generally range from 10 to 16 million light years.

Yes certainly getting my home equipment setup better. I wonder if Gary cropped his final image? I could have (probably should have) cropped mine as I took this without a coma corrector. But it is a great comparison. I'm extremely happy with results.

Hi Jamie. Almost all my images are cropped. This is to partly to help with composition, but mainly to trim the ragged edges left from the stacking process.
