Light New Zealand Streets smarter

Hi,  The ‘Red Zone Dark Sky Park’ Facebook page has bought to my attention a petition to request to Parliament, and NZTA, to replace the 4000K LED’s in street lighting with 2700k LEDs and instal 2700K LED’s for future street lighting programmes.  The organisers perspective is from one of human and environmental health.  Though as Astronomers and Stargazers we also have another angle.  I don’t usually sign petitions as a rule, but this one is one I am prepared to stick my foot out for, and it is timely; relating to my increased personal interest on the topic and belief they are being sold a lemon with the 4000k coloured LEDs.
