Upcoming CAS Events

Tuesday October 20th –  CAS Monthly Meeting @ UC 
Just a short reminder that this Tuesday is our regular UC catch up and this month its members soapbox time!

This is a quick fire round of short discussions from members across wide range of topics. This soapbox we have:

Rob Glassey            Observations of Barnard’s Star
Malcolm Flaim          What I get out of Astronomy
Alan Teague             Binocular objects: astronomy
Terry Richardson      Sounds from Space

Our meeting starts with tea/coffee at 7.30pm with talks kicking off at 8pm

Don’t forget we are in Room ER 225 in the Ernest Rutherford Building
University of Canterbury

(One building over from the East building we used last year) Entrance to the building will be via the North side entrance using the lift or stairs up to level 2

Saturday October 24th – Member Night at the Observatory 

Our monthly members night at the observatory is on Saturday 24th – no formal plans but member normally gather around 7pm onwards – rain or shine.

This month we are doing an induction for new members – so if you are new to the society come along and say hello and allow us to show you around the facility and explain how we manage accreditation.
