Terry RichardsonModeratorHi All,
Celestron CPC11 is now installed. This is in place of the 12 inch Meade. Awaiting polar alignment next good night (hopefully tomorrow)
It fits the enclosure perfectly. Looks great.
Watch this space for when aligned and commencement of accreditation training.

Terry RichardsonModeratorScope now polar aligned. Just a need a starry night for star alignment and shakedown, setting parameters etc.
Keep an eye out here for when it is operational (a couple of days I hope).

Terry RichardsonModeratorCPC11 now calibrated and ready for use. Polar alignment is good (Got a drift check last night). The optics are fabulous!
It is ready for general use.
It is important that users do not “play” until orientated. There are a couple of quirks that require minimal orientation.
Those who were accredited on the 12 inch Meade already know about opening the enclosure. Just need a run through of start up and shut down procedure. This can be done in one session. If anybody wants to get the hang of it, let me know and I can come out to supervise.
I can run sessions for groups of about 4 for complete accreditation purposes (for opening the enclosure, start and shut down the scope and closing the enclosure).
From there the menus are self explanatory and you cannot do any harm by exploring sky objects.
Bring on the stars!

Terry RichardsonModeratorUnfortunately there is a problem with the scope. Unreliable slews. sound familiar???
There is a problem with the motor control or the handpiece software I think. I have emailed the suppliers. Awaiting a response.
Will update when I know what is happening.
