Meade LX200 GPS for sale

We are offering the twelve inch Meade (now replaced with CPC11) to members at a reduced price.

This instrument has given good service in the main. There is some mirror flop, remedied with mirror lock and Crayford focuser. There have also been some electronic issues with the occasional wild slews (a problem we also have in the 16 inch from time to time). I believe this is due to the inadequate one amp power supply discovered during takedown. I feel this scope would give good service to a single owner – operator who is aware of any issues.

The LX 200 Is a fork mounted Alt/Az telescope with GPS. It has had Peterson modification to gears and clutch. The handpiece was replaced about 18 months ago. The GPS, Motors and Handpiece had the latest firmware installed about the same time.

There is also the EQ wedge available for $500. This would require a pier mounting.

We are offering it to interested members before we offer it more widely at a higher price that we think it is worth.
