Preetha SreedharanParticipantDid anyone know that Lucy Hawking (daughter of a very famous Hawking) wrote a series of young adult books and she called on the talents of her resident physicist – If you have a Christchurch City Council library card and a smartphone then you’ll be able to download and read this series on the library app – the books are fiction, very entertaining but most importantly the physics and astronomy concepts are so accessible to young (and older :P) inquiring minds…
In anticipation of the new CAS Spectroscopy group and for anyone wanting to brush up on their physics, there’s a audiobook version of Harry Cliff’s “How to Make an Apple Pie from Scratch” – it’s not a cook book I promise but an interesting and accessible listen (there’s also a eBook version I think) – Carl Sagan once said “If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe”
I am sure there are other books which others have found so do share your finds 😀
