FOR SALE | Explore Scientific – ED102 FCD100 Triplet

I’m looking to part ways with my ED102. This rig has suited me well as an astrophotography scope for a few years and is ideal for someone wanting to get into slightly smaller FOV for the easier to image galaxies or smaller nebula’s at 714mm FL. Comes with a 0.8x reducer so it can perform well with 102mm aperture and 571mm FL. It has a FCD100 triplet lens. Selling this as I now own an Orion RC8 and an FRA500, so this is middle ground for me.

In relatively good condition. Optics are fine, but there are some scrapes and wear on the outside of the tube, nothing that will affect the image though (no dents). Some blu-tac in places to stop the dew shield from sliding. I am not the original owner so I don’t have receipts or documents etc.

Comes with:

-Primaluce Lab rings and dovetail bar

-Original rings and original dual speed focuser which suits a 2″ eyepiece

-Original rotator

-2x guide scope mounting brackets

-Moonlite focuser with holes drilled and tapped to match ZWO autofocuser bracket. Unfortunately I have misplaced one focus knob for it, but no worries if you are putting an electric focuser on. The focuser is locked onto the scope pretty tight and I can’t unscrew it, so for now I’m not willing to risk breaking it to fit the original focuser…

-William Optics rotator with markings

-Field Flattener and 0.8x Flattener/reducer with fittings to mount them. Basically, all good to throw a ZWO camera on them provided you have the extensions and adaptor rings

-Lens caps for main lens and a cap each for one side of Flattener and reducer. I don’t have a case for this so preferably a pick-up/drop off.

I am also selling my Celestron AVX mount but I won’t list it until this scope is gone, so if anyone is wanting a scope and mount setup, I am happy to sort out a price for that, looking for around $750 for the mount. Email me, or Whatsapp me for photos of scope and/or mount.
