    Hi All,

I’m hoping to head out tonight to get some hands on time with the SW Refractor, I was wondering if anyone that is accredited could also be heading out tonight? (sky is looking clear till about midnight-ish) -i’d be looking to do some imaging with it, i have all the needed kit and currently have a synscan setup at home if anyone wants to pre-judge me 😛

hoping to get some cracking lunar shots!

Not accredited on the refractor but I’ll be there tonight to image mars on the 16. Need to get it now that the storms are gone and before it gets too small! Might do some imaging on my wee refractor and there is nothing wrong with synscan!! haha

If anyone accredited is going to open up the observatory this evening, I’d be glad to come to gain familiarity with the equipment and procedures.

I’m only accredited on the 16″ so I will be able to show everyone that 🙂

Thanks for the update Josh – hopefully you can get a good session in on the LX, i’m not sure if anyone else that may be accredited on the other scopes is going on-site tonight…so its a gamble for us newbies 🙁

I’ll be using the 16″ for about 10 minutes, after that I’ll be on my scope so that’s free for everyone else to use. Will chuck a nice filter on it so nebulas hopefully pop out through the moon glow

Thanks for the awesome experience last night! Great meeting you, I’m now officially addicted and would love to get some imaging time on the 16″as well, but ofcourse, training is required especially on the software, manual operation was pretty straightforward. Very very cool. 🙂

It was great having you out. We’re always looking for more people to get involved!

Yeah operating the scope is easy. Imaging is a whole different story that I wish I knew my self
