Camp ground recommendations @ Tekapo

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Hello, i was planning to spend  a coupleof days at Tekapo before heading to Stardate and was wondering if anyone had recommendation as to which camp ground would be a nice place for star gazing? Be glad for any suggestions</p>

There’s the one at the foot of Mt john, by the ice rink at the south end of town. Lots of trees, and Mt John itself get in the way though, but there may well be a few good shaded spots.

I stayed in a good one near Twizel, Lake Ruataniwha Holiday Park & Motels. There’s a few camp ground lights around and a few trees, but shaded spots can be found.
