
Hopefully this works. This is meant to be an animated GIF of Io eclipsing Europa on Monday morning 2:19:15 – 2:25:15 am
It compresses 6 minutes into 2 seconds. Io is closest to Jupiter, the Europa, then Ganymede. Callisto is far top left.
Europa fades out an back. Io can be see moving right then jumps back as the video loops. If you watch Europa carefully you can see it jump back the other way.
These mutual eclipses only occur in short groups 6 years apart, at Jupiter’s equinox, when the planes of the moons orbits line up with the sun. Right now is mutual eclipse season!
