Hi everyone, I just came back from the observatory (bringing back some keys, woops) and just had a quick few milky-way snapshots with my totally not suitable Lumix camera (the picture needs to be seen from a great distance to appreciate fully, much like a Van Gogh painting). I would love to be able to have some basic tracking using the iOptron and maybe make use of either the 20Da or 60Da (and 6Da when I get it to arrive here). What are the rules for the iOptron and camera use, I know how both work already, but I guess I need to be accredited on that as well?
not sure about accreditation, but you can borrow my skytracker. just shout and we can sort out the logistics 🙂

Yeah, there’s accreditation for that and the cameras as well or just use it when someone who is accredited is there. The image looks good though! Is that mars on the right?
It is yes! Couldn’t get the color data out the raw files yet, have to figure that out. The lens itself is pretty bad though, stars are stretched all around (lens effect, not trailing).
Thinking a bit about logistics, would a CAS whatsapp group be an idea? For knowing who goes to the observatory when and such?
