I was thinking it might be nice to show some of my images since I started astrophotography in 2015. I’ll not post all of them, don’t worry, just a very small selection. They are totally free to download and use (as are all my images ever).
This one is M31, well known here as well, and it was my first object I wanted some more data on. I love galaxies (and nebulae) and with M31 I wanted one to print out and hang on the wall. I was still learning PixInsight a lot so this one took about 3 months to process. Since I learned more afterwards, I would like to redo it again, but I have to stop somewhere or it consumes my life. 😉 I used a bit of deconvolution as the blue star-region on the bottom left were more like worms somehow, probably because I was undersampling(??). Deconvolution did wonders to that part and instead of worms, proper stars came out.
The image is an actual HDR composition consisting of the following exposures at ISO 1600 on my Canon 6Da;
- 95x 20 sec
- 80x 120 sec
- 21x 300 sec
Data was taken on 09-25, 10-04 and 10-05-2016 at my light polluted garden in the Netherlands. Processed using PixInsight.
