Together with a few astrophotographers I rent a telescope in Spain (not as expensive as iTelescope, not even close đŸ˜‰ ). Just starting to learn working with that one, but the skies are very dark there as well (SQM of about 20-21 without moon). As I saw the milky way overhere for the first time in my life, I wonder what the SQM at the observatory is approximately?

I started with collecting H-alpha data of the Pacman nebula (NGC 281), 8x 10 min exposures and stacked in AstroPixelProcessor. To get the noise down I want to extend that to a few hours and combining it with OIII and maybe SII, which will be something for the near future.

Looking very nice! Very long exposures, hopefully no planes, satellites or meteors ruin them! :p

Those aren’t a problem when you do things like sigma clipping. đŸ™‚ The trails then get thrown out and the actual signal can still be used.
