I have a 12″ dob goto that has been out of my garage only once when i was making a trolly for it i put it back in the garage and i collomited it and that is where it has remained because of health problems.
The 12″ dob is as good as new i have many eyepieces, some cheap and some not so cheap and a very good power pack and a 8 mp microscope eyepiece camera that i was going to see if it was possible to adapt for telescope use.

I want to sell the scope and it has to be worth at least 3 thousand so if anyone is interested, i know it’s a lot of money but it would be well worth it.

    Cheers for now.

    Hi Grizz,

Welcome to our forum, and Welcome to the society!

The 8SE will be a great lunar scope. The alt-az goto mount is very convenient and easy to operate. It packs a lot of telescope into a pretty small and light weight package, with the well know optical quality of the C8. The mount is not so well suited to deep sky long exposures but it’s much easier for the moon and planets, and for visual observing. Getting a good planetary image is more about being out there using the gear when the good nights come along, so the easier it is to use, the better your odd’s. No telescope will take good images in storage, and few nights you do get a big telescope out will probably not be the best nights. And the more you use it, the better you get, and the better your images become.

Thanks very much for your advice Rob i think i will go with the NexStar, the trolly i made for the dob wil be of no use with the NexStar so it can go with the dob.

Thanks very much again Rob cheers for now.

    Kind regards.
