Akaroa Stargazing is on the hunt for a casual/on call Astronomy Guide!
About Us: We are a small, growing, family-run business dedicated to sharing the
wonders of the cosmos with our guests in the stunning natural environment of Akaroa.
We offer unique stargazing tours, as well as daytime experiences like sungazing and
virtual stargazing, aiming to inspire a deeper appreciation for astronomy and our
place in the universe.Are you passionate about the universe and its marvels?
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Casual Astronomy Guide to join
our team in Akaroa – just a 90 minute drive from Christchurch!
This is a fantastic opportunity for students or anyone with a deep interest in
astronomy to turn their passion into a unique job.What You’ll Do:
- Lead engaging stargazing tours at night.
- Guide daytime tours, including sungazing and virtual stargazing experiences.
- Share fascinating insights into celestial objects and astronomical phenomena.
- Learn your way around constellations and receive practical guiding techniques.
We’re Looking For:
- Astronomy Knowledge is a MUST!
- Full Driver’s Licence (essential).
- Own reliable car (preferred).
- Public speaking or guiding experience (a bonus, but not essential – enthusiasm counts!).
